As your Member of Parliament, I will always advocate for what matters most to our Oakville community. Building a competitive net-zero economy while bringing down the cost of living is a local and federal priority, and serves in the best interest of future generations.

To deliver on this shared goal, our government has invested millions of dollars directly into our Oakville community to support the transition to greener energy solutions. As part of the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program, our government invested over $55.7 million in fully repayable low-interest loans, to build 131 purpose-built rental homes in Oakville. This eight-storey rental apartment building includes 29 accessible homes and features geothermal heating and cooling, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 60%.

I am also committed to investing in green infrastructure for community spaces, like the Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre. Last fall, I announced the installation of 1,300 solar panels through a $1 million contribution from the federal government, reducing this facility's energy consumption by 43%. This investment ensures that this public space will continue to serve as a community staple for the generations to come.

These are investments in our environment, housing sector, and our future.

As the Government of Canada continues to invest in energy-efficient spaces for Canadians to live, work and play, we are also expanding public transit infrastructure to build more connected communities through the new $30 billion Canada Public Transit Fund. This historic investment will help municipalities to develop more affordable, energy-efficient and accessible public transit systems.

Our climate plan is working to decarbonize our industries, while simultaneously ensuring fairness for every generation. I will continue to secure investments that make sense for our community so that Oakville remains a vibrant, thriving and accessible place for years to come.

Upcoming Federal Benefit Payment Dates

Keep an eye out for the Canada Child Benefit, which comes out this Friday, July 19! Every July, your benefit payment is recalculated based on your adjusted family net income from the previous year. The CCB is indexed to inflation, ensuring it keeps pace with the cost of living and supports families in meeting their everyday needs and providing a better future for their children.

Visit to The Burloak Canoe Club
The Burloak Canoe Club has so much to celebrate with their long history of remarkable achievements in canoe and kayak racing. It was a pleasure to visit and speak with Team Canada in advance of the upcoming Junior Worlds and U23 Worlds in Bulgaria. Through the $15M Athlete Assistance Program, we will continue to support Canada’s best. Thanks to my dear colleague and Olympian Adam Van Koeverden for joining me!

Visit to Wyndham Manor
I was pleased to join Wyndham Manor residents and staff to discuss how our federal government can continue to support seniors to age with dignity. Our government has made significant investments in Ontario's healthcare system to train more healthcare workers, increase their wages, improve service delivery, and more.

Visit to Hamilton Small Businesses with MP Lisa Hepfner
MP Hepfner and I had the opportunity to hear firsthand how the new Canada Carbon Rebate for Small Business will support our business community by returning over $2.5B in rebates. We will continue to help Canadian business owners find effective solutions to grow their operations sustainably.
