Newsletter - January 08, 2025

I hope everyone had a restful and joyous holiday break among families and friends. As we look ahead to the New Year, let us take a moment to reflect on all that we accomplished together for Oakville in 2024.

As Oakville's voice in Ottawa, delivering results for our community is always my priority. This past year, our government invested over $12.75 million in Oakville. Through funding programs like the Tourism Growth Fund, New Horizons for Seniors Program, Canada Summer Jobs, My Main Street Funding, and Enabling Accessibility Fund, Oakville businesses and community associations received over $4 million to support their work. An additional $8.7 million was delivered to the Town through the 2024 Canada Community Building Fund for the Town to direct to strategic initiatives that benefit Oakville.

In addition to our direct funding towards local businesses, associations, and the Town, our government also delivered tangible results for Oakville residents and their families last year through our federal programs. With over 10,000 Oakville residents already receiving care under the Canada Dental Care Plan, over $108.5 million delivered to Oakville families through the Canada Child Benefit, Carbon Rebates of up to $1100 for a family of four, credit card fee reductions up to 27% for local small businesses, and GST relief for everyone during the holiday period, our government's supports are helping with affordability by putting money back in the pockets of families, individuals, and businesses.

Delivering progress and results for our wonderful Oakville community has been my focus since I was first elected in 2019, and our government’s programs have done that in Oakville and across the country.

Best wishes for a healthy and happy 2025.

Thank You, Prime Minister
Thank you, Prime Minister. Thank you for your leadership and for your dedication to our country. It has been an honour and privilege to serve Canadians with you.

Baking Holiday Cookies at Kerr Street Mission
Thank you to my wonderful Youth Council who volunteered to bake holiday cookies for Kerr Street Mission over the break! Supporting charities like Kerr Street Mission who are working hard to provide care and support in our community is vital in helping to lift families out of poverty.

Team Canada: 2025 World Juniors Hockey Championship
My family and I have always loved to cheer on Team Canada at the World Juniors over the holidays, and getting to see them play in Ottawa this year was truly special. It was an honour to present the Player of the Game award after Canada defeated Germany 3-0!
