Last Thursday our government came together in the House of Commons for an overnight marathon voting session to deliver critical services and programs for Canadians. Over the span of 30 hours, we delivered vote after vote in supports to Canadians, while the opposition voted against affordable housing, good jobs, and clean air.

It was disappointing to see the opposition vote against every measure to assist Canadians across the nation such as $10-a-day childcare, ending gender-based violence, and funding for Canada’s military operations. We will never stop fighting for Canadians.

The newly announced Canada Dental Care Plan furthers this commitment by making dental care accessible for up to nine million uninsured Canadians with an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000. This historic investment will cover a wide range of health services including cleaning, x-rays, and preventive care – so that Canadians don’t have to choose between paying their bills and getting the quality care they deserve.

Similar landmark investments like the Grocery Rebate, $10-a-day childcare and our affordable housing plan support hard working families and Canadians during challenging economic times. We will continue to have the backs of Canadians to ensure that they get the support they need.

Ukrainian Holiday Party in Oakville
After a busy week in the House of Commons, I joined Ukrainian families in Oakville for their holiday party. It was wonderful to speak with our Oakville Ukrainian community. Many thanks to John Holuk and the entire community for the invitation today. Slava Ukraini!

Supporting Small Businesses
By reducing regulatory fees, over 50% of Canadian Small Businesses will be able to pay higher wages, grow their businesses, and keep more money in their pockets. Our economic team will continue delivering on affordability measures to ensure Canadians have the supports they need.

Annual Kerr Village Tree Lighting
Thank you to the Kerr Village BIA for organizing the 29th Annual Kerr Village Tree Lighting, and for inviting me to spread some holiday cheer with Oakville residents and our business community. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holidays!
